This particular  work  was developed in response to lockdown  and essentially deals with sense of place.

 

I contacted people that I know,  had known over an extended timescale and asked them to send a rock to me in the post. Once received I made a cast of the rock which was then  returned and replaced in the location the rock had been removed from. The cast was made from Jesmonite which in this case is an aggregate of ground marble and water based adhesive.

This project was collaborative resulting in a work  that was  both intimate and distant. It was about exchange, a gift that would ultimately reside as a memory.
